BollyX The Bollywood Workout



Dance reminds me that we are all made of stars. Literally: we share the same incredible elements with all of Nature and perhaps the best way to remember that is to be bold and shine like the stars we are.

I joined BollyX The Bollywood Workout instructor community in the Summer of 2016 and as they say, it is unleashing my inner rockstar. It also brings together my love of dance and of Indian Cinema. Sometimes I like to get high impact and jump around in my sneakers with BollyX. Other times, I like to get low impact and more rooted to the ground barefoot style with BollyX LIT.

From the BollyX website: BollyX is a Bollywood-inspired dance-fitness program that combines dynamic choreography with the hottest music from around the world. Its 50-minute cardio workout cycles between higher and lower-intensity dance sequences to get you moving, sweating, and motivated all at the same time. At the very core of a BollyX workout is the inspiration it draws from the music and dance of Bollywood, the film industry of India. We embody the infectious energy, expression and movement of Bollywood and aim to expand the reach of fitness to more people worldwide.Our fitness curriculum has been created by world-class choreographers and certified fitness professionals to ensure a safe and powerful total body dance workout for all. The BollyX fitness program and instructor training is endorsed by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), theAmerican Council on Exercise (ACE), the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), and theBritish Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) in Canada as an approved provider for continuing education units/credits (CEUs/CECs). BollyX utilizes interval training techniques; the unique workout not only tones your entire body but also burns serious calories – participants have recorded a calorie burn of 500-800 calories per session. No prior dance experience is required – just a positive attitude and the desire to unleash your inner swagger!
