Intro To Ashtanga Yoga (Led Class) @ Yoga Pearl
Also known as “Yoga Chikitsa” or “Yoga Therapy” for its cleansing and stabilizing effect on the body and mind, the Ashtanga Primary Series is one of the most popular Vinyasa Yoga sequences in global currency today. Consisting of over 40 postures, variations, and transitions, the Primary Series is the first sequence learned in the context of Mysore Ashtanga Yoga but as a whole it is an Intermediate/Advanced level vinyasa practice that never gets too easy.
In this Intro class we’ll explore the first half of the Primary Series following the conventional count taught by Sharath Jois in Mysore, South India. This class is oriented towards those who are new to Ashtanga but some experience with other Vinyasa classes can be helpful.
