On the Mat

Tashi Delek, my name is Sandi and I am an Ashtanga yoga student and teacher. I practice a specific tradition of Vinyasa yoga that developed in Mysore, India and that ultimately aims to integrate all 8 limbs or dimensions of yoga described in the yoga sutras of Patanjali: yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.

Whatever brings us to the path of yoga, it is just that – a path, a gradual progression – a way of transforming confusion into clarity, fear into courage, selfishness into generosity – suffering into liberation. The path is the goal and the means to the goal. Progress can appear quickly or slowly, but either way, there is no rush – and there is also no time to waste.

Let’s practice!
